Once your transfer is complete, your original tapes are held securely for 3 months. If you’d like them returned, just let me know and I’ll ship them back for just the cost of shipping. Tapes not claimed within 3 months will be discarded, so please reach out before then if you want them back.

How much does it cost to digitize home movies?
My rates are significantly lower than national video conversion services that charge $30 or more per tape. Video tape pricing (VHS, VHS-C, Hi8, MiniDV) is based on quantity — 1 or 2 tapes are a flat $25 for the order. Send 3 or more tapes and it drops to just $12.99 per tape. Film reels (8mm and Super 8) are a flat $19.99 per reel. USB drives are $20 each and DVDs are $5 each. Cloud delivery is included free.
Can I transfer home movies to a USB drive?
Absolutely — USB delivery is one of the most popular options. I load all your digital movies onto a USB flash drive for $20 and return it to you. Cloud download is also available at no extra charge.
What file format will my digital movies be in?
All transfers are delivered as MP4 files — every time, no exceptions. MP4 is the most universally compatible video format available, meaning your movies will play on any device you own: smartphones, tablets, laptops, desktop computers, and smart TVs, without needing any special software or conversion.
Is it safe to mail my tapes to you?
Yes — I recommend sending tapes via a tracked mail service such as USPS Priority Mail or UPS. I’ll confirm receipt and keep you updated throughout the process so you always know where things stand.
Can I drop off my tapes in person?
Yes — if you’re in the Utica, NY area you’re welcome to drop your tapes off in person rather than mailing them. Just contact me first to get the address and arrange a convenient drop-off time. Local drop-off is a great option if you’d prefer to hand your memories directly to me rather than ship them.
Do you transfer film reels as well as video tapes?
